MINI Design Award 2008

"Giving value to water!" That is the unquestionably stimulating topic of the 2008 MINI Design Awards, supported by MINI in collaboration with the European Institute of Design (IED).

Mini Design Award 2008

By targeting young Italian designers, the MINI Design Award has the aim of developing talent, and helping talented people gain attention. Thirty-three designers were invited to engage with the topic of this fourth edition of the competition, some selected by winners of previous years, others by the Association of Industrial Design (ADI). From November 5, this year's works will be presented in Rome in an exhibition which is open to the public.

But that's not all: A second section of the competition is dedicated to young creative types between 18 and 35, giving a lot of people the opportunity to submit proposals regarding the topic of 'water' via the internet. More than 130 projects were uploaded to the MINI Award website, which gives you an idea of the success of the competition.

If you're curious, and would like to see the results of everybody's efforts, you have no choice but to come to the opening of the exhibition on Wednesday, November 5, in the Youth Center designed by Luigi Moretti. All this year's works will be exhibited there, as well as a selection of the best works from previous years and an equally interesting selection of works submitted via the internet. Those who make it will have the opportunity to witness first-hand the trends of Italian design, and to experience up close the solutions developed by the young creative types, in the presence of the winners of the competition. Design lovers: Have you taken note?
